Blow-In-Blanket System (BIBS)

Setting New Standards for Insulation

The Blow-In-Blanket System was brought to Ontario by Thermo Seal Insulation Systems in 1989. Although the BIBS insulation system has been around for more than 20 years many people are still unaware of it, but one thing has remained true over the years. Once customers see the product, the benefits are undeniable.

What is BIBS?

The Blow-in-Blanket System (BIBS) is a unique state of the art insulation system that uses virgin fibreglass insulation (no additives, binding agents, or chemicals) to manufacture a seamless blanket of insulation in cathedral ceilings, floors, and framed walls. The Blow-In-Blanket System is achieved by blowing a loose fill fibreglass through a hose and out a nozzle into the cavity behind a fibre mesh netting that is precisely attached to the studs. With 3 times the density of standard fibreglass batt insulation, the choice of which insulation to install is an easy one. The proven performance of BIBS guarantees that it will last the lifetime of your home, providing you with endless savings, comfort, and energy efficiency.

Why BIBS is a Smarter Choice

  • High R value (R24 in 2 x 6 wall)
  • Seamless blanket of insulation
  • Custom fit for irregular framing
  • No chemical binding agents
  • Licensed, professional installers
  • Will not settle, sag, or lose R value
  • Made from a rapidly renewable resource
  • GreenGuard certification
  • Superior sound control
  • Will not absorb moisture
  • CCMC tested & approved
  • Proven performance (over 20 years)
  • Exceeds building code requirements
  • Reduces air infiltration
  • Eliminates heat loss & saves money
  • Qualifies for L.E.E.D. credits

Guaranteed Not To Settle

Thermo Seal Insulation Systems is the founder of the Blow-In-Blanket System in Canada and has installed it in thousands of homes since 1989. When we insulate your home with the Blow-In-Blanket System, you have our guarantee that it will not settle from gravitational forces or household vibrations.

The Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC) has conducted extensive testing and their conclusion is that BIBS does not settle. Independent laboratories at CCMC conducted a drop test of an eight foot wall blown with BIBS. They lifted up the mock wall and dropped it 60 times from a height of 2.5 cm to simulate household vibrations and gravitational forces. The results were undeniable - at the correct design density, BIBS does not settle. Thermo Seal can guarantee that your insulation will not settle because our trained, professional installers conduct density tests in every application to determine that the correct design density has been achieved.

Thermo Seal will not install Cellulose in the Blow-In-Blanket System or in attic applications because of settlement problems.

Installed by Certified Professionals

Our BIBS installers are certified to provide the highest quality of workmanship available. Installation procedures and techniques are as recommended by Blow-In-Blanket LLC using top of the line patented equipment approved for use in the Blow-In-Blanket System. Only qualified contractors certified by Blow-In-Blanket LLC may install and market the Blow-In-Blanket System. Don't be fooled by imposters who claim to have the same system. Thermo Seal Insulation Systems is the expert in installing the Blow-In-Blanket System in Canada with over twenty years of experience.

Custom Fit & Uniform Density

When conventional batts are installed in non-standard cavities or in irregular framed areas, problems occur. Batts must be cut to fit these areas, creating gaps and seams that allow heat loss and in turn significantly decrease the working R value. The Blow-In-Blanket System manufactures a seamless blanket that custom fits any size or shape cavity. This guarantees a uniform working R value throughout the entire cavity and provides enhanced air infiltration control.
