Environmental Certifications

Greenguard Certification for meeting or exceeding strict chemical emissions limits achieving Greenguard certification gives credence to manufacturers’ sustainability claims, backing them up with empirical scientific data from an unbiased, third-party organization.

LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) is a third-party certification program and an internationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water efficiency, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality.

Blow-In-Blanket System

  • our blowing wool is manufactured in Toronto, Ontario
  • contains a minimum of 70% recycled content (post-consumer & post-industrial)
  • the primary resource in fibreglass is sand and is a rapidly renewable resource
  • recycled glass is a major component of our fibreglass and is considered a secondary raw material
  • secondary raw materials reduce cost, conserve resources, and keep waste away from landfills
  • installing blowing wool saves 12x more energy (in the 1st year) than the energy used to produce it
  • manufacturing processes and controls improved with a closed loop waste water system
  • recyclable packaging
  • compressed contents reduce packaging needed and use less energy to transport product

Polarfoam "Soya" Spray Foam

  • petrol is reduced by 30% and replaced with soy bean oil, recycled plastic bottles, vegetable oil
  • soy bean oil is produced locally by North American farmers
  • soy bean oil production requires 50% of the necessary arable land compared to castor oil
  • castor oil is used in competing spray foam insulation products
  • arable land is a finite resource
  • the recycled plastic bottles used do not contain propylene oxide
  • using soy bean oil reduces the amount of non-renewable resources used in production
  • containers for packaging are either recyclable or reusable
